Recorded from my balcony at about 23 hundred hours on new year's eve in 2012. Mostly sounds of fireworks which echo from neighbouring buildings and water dripping in nearby gutter. Some distant human voices and traffic noise. Recorded with a zoom h1 portable stereo recorder.

A mockingbird singing at midnight. Some suburban sounds can also be heard, such as a train horn. A passing insomniac wondered whether i was making all the noise, and i told him no, it was a bird.

Walk around otari-wilton bush reserve in wellington, new zealand. Sunny day, lots of circadas, birds and sounds of stream. Plane overhead, some footsteps and other people on tracks. The reserve is about 100 hectares of native bush on the edge of wellington.

I was mucking about with a new mic when i started playing around with audacity and came up with this. I don't know what it sounds like, but it sounds kind of spacey so i named it spaceship. This was made with my voice and audacity.

First attempt at recording with audacity and my new keyboard. All sounds are bone-stock from the mx49. I've only added a little reverb in one 15-second section of the piece. I didn't intend to do anything in particular, just checking out sounds on the keys and getting familiar with audacity. I think of it as a 21st century version of the beatles "revolution 9". I was on my way to a meeting a few doors down from this intersection and there was some nice sounds happening, it's in the late morning and so people are hard at work and moving around and doing their thing. There's some cool door chimes, trucks, traffic, random conversations, etc.
